PITTSBURGH — A man was shot in the head early Thursday morning in downtown Pittsburgh, police said.
The shooting happened about 3:30 a.m. along Penn Avenue, by the David L. Lawrence Convention Center, in the Central Business District.
Witnesses told police they heard two men arguing before the shooting.
Officers who went to investigate found one man who was shot, police said. He was taken to a hospital in critical condition.
The shooter has not been found.
Because of the shooting, Urban Pathways decided to have its students in grades 6-12 learn virtually Thursday. The charter school is located about a block away from where the shooting happened.
“It seems like if you go out and have a good time, you don’t even have to be in an argument. You could just be an innocent bystander just walking down the street,” said Michael Coleman who works on Penn Avenue. “Its sad.”
