MOUNT OLIVER, Pa. — One person was shot while trying to get into an apartment Tuesday morning in Mount Oliver, police said.
The attempted home invasion happened about 8:30 a.m. in the 200 block of Ormsby Avenue.
Police said a 19-year-old woman who lived in the apartment was confronted by the intruder after the intruder damaged her vehicle.
The intruder, a 21-year-old man who used to be involved with the woman, tried to force himself into the apartment and was shot in the leg by the woman’s male houseguest. The woman and her houseguest called 911 and are cooperating with police.

The intruder and the vehicle he used to leave the scene was found on Watson Street by Pittsburgh police.
He was taken to the hospital in fair condition.
Several police cars were seen in the area, and crime scene tape blocked off part of the street outside the apartment.
Detectives are talking with the Allegheny County District Attorney’s Office to determine criminal charges.
