Pittsburgh doctors see increase in people suffering from cold-like symptoms

PITTSBURGH — Coughs, sore throats, and congestion are common in the fall.

However, doctors in Western Pennsylvania said they are seeing a lot of people with cold-like symptoms right now.

Doctors think it is because everyone has been wearing masks, socially distancing, and not being around others.

Our immune systems haven’t been exposed to cold viruses in more than a year, but they are still present.

Doctors say this is mostly happening in children.

Right now, there is no need to be alarmed, but remember to wash your hands and stay home when you are sick.
