Pittsburgh Public School employees who were at laptop distribution exhibiting coronavirus symptoms, district says

PITTSBURGH — Two Montessori PreK-5 employees are experiencing coronavirus symptoms, a spokesperson for Pittsburgh Public Schools confirms to Channel 11

The district said both employees were at the technology and material distribution at the school on Friday.

Both staff members were wearing protective equipment and were social distancing during the distribution, the district said.

Parents were sent a letter alerting them to the symptoms, and both employees have been tested. They’re still waiting for the results.

In the letter, the district said,”We are committed to sharing this type of information with you as the health and safety of our students, family and staff is our number one priority. As we continue to learn about more each day about COVID-19 and community spread, please continue to wear a mask at all times when in public and practice social distancing. As a reminder, the symptoms of COVID-19 include a fever, cough and shortness of breath. If you or a member of your family experience any of the symptoms above, we encourage to please follow-up with your primary care physician.”
