PITTSBURGH — Vivien, a two-toed sloth who calls The National Aviary home, celebrated her third birthday with a party fit for a queen.

The National Aviary, which is America’s only independent indoor nonprofit zoo dedicated to birds and other wildlife, held a special celebration for Vivien.

Vivien and her best friend, Valentino, are ambassadors for their species. Joined by their friend, Wookiee, the three make up the aviary’s sloth family.

According to the zoo, Vivien was given a cake made of sweet potato, corn, zucchini and squash.

Vivien’s fans were able to watch her party via Facebook Live.

“People have an emotional connection to sloths—they bring a smile to your face, which is something we can all use right now. Seeing a sloth in person inspires visitors to think about how they can take action, and it deepens their connection,” said Christa Gaus, the National Aviary’s manager of visitor experiences and training.

Sloth fans can visit the group at the National Aviary daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
