PITTSBURGH — Welcome to Pittsburgh! Five new female cheetah cubs and their mother, Naya, are now settling in at the Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium after being transferred from a Virginia facility.
Zoo officials said Zola and Rey, the zoo’s previous pair of female cheetahs, have moved to a new home where they will have families of their own.

The cubs were born in October and both mom and the cubs are doing well.
The zoo needs your help to name the new cubs. There are themes that you can vote for including:
- Pittsburgh Pride (examples: Liberty, Bloom, North, East, Hazel, Brook, Schenley)
- Girl Power (examples: Athena, Pandora, Joan, Cleo, Frida, Amelia)
- Africa (examples: Bisa “Greatly Love”, Kali “Rosebud”, Malika “Queen”, Shani “Wonderful”, Taj “Crown”)

In honor of National Kitten Day, zoo officials said voting will end on Friday, July 10 at 5 p.m. The names will be announced the week of July 13.
The new family can be seen at the Cheetah Exhibit at the Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium.
