PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh police are investigating after three people were shot in Pittsburgh's Homewood neighborhood Thursday morning.
Officers responded to a Shotspotter alert in the 800 block of Brushton Avenue just before 5 a.m.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found two people shot. The victims were taken to the hospital. Both victims are listed in critical condition.
Investigators tell us a third victim drove to the hospital. That victim is listed in stable condition.
The three men were shot near Betts Market, and police say the incident may have begun inside the story. The store’s front window was shattered by the gunfire.
Officers recovered several weapons in the area of the shooting.
Police have not released a description of a suspect.
The shooting comes the same day community leaders plan to meet with Pittsburgh police in an effort to put an end to recent violence.
“It's not going to end until we do something. We will be at meeting and trying to stop the violence and homicides and flow to the community, but you will guarantee there will be another shooting until we get right,” Valerie Dixon, from the P.A.C.T Initiative said.
WPXI’s Courtney Brennan is talking with investigators and will be at the meeting tonight. She’ll have much more on Channel 11 News beginning at 5 p.m.
