AVALON, Pa. — The Avalon police chief kicked down the door to alert residents of a house fire in Avalon Friday morning.
Investigators told Channel 11 the fire started at a home on Florence Avenue around 9 a.m.
The police chief said he kicked the door down to see if anyone was inside the home. He then went to neighboring homes to alert residents about the fire.

No one was hurt, officials said.
The Allegheny County fire marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.
