WESTMORELAND CO., Pa. — The owner and stable manager of a donkey in Armstrong County wants to know why someone would open fire on the animal with a paintball gun.
The 10-year-old donkey named Oliver was shot five times, including in the neck and behind the ear. Jennifer Majors, barn manager at Above the Fray Stables, told Channel 11 this act of abuse is disgusting.

“Someone chose to do this,” she said. “It’s very upsetting that someone would do this to an animal. He’s such a sweetheart, he’s never done anything to anyone.”
Police are looking for whoever is responsible for trespassing on the stables’ private property in Westmoreland County and shooting Oliver with a paintball gun. The owner noticed the wounds Tuesday night and contacted police.
Over the last 24 hours, Majors said Oliver hasn’t been as trusting as he normally is around people. Thankfully, she said the donkey’s wounds will heal.
But it might take awhile for Oliver to be himself again.
