The woman – identified as Ladea Terrell, 33 – was initially rushed to the hospital in critical condition, but she died on New Year’s Day. This is the first shooting death of the new year, after 2019 saw Pittsburgh’s lowest homicide total in two decades.

According to investigators, a man drove himself to police headquarters soon after the shooting and was detained for questioning. However, no arrests have been made yet.

The investigation is ongoing.
