Police looking for man who allegedly shot pregnant teenager on Route 65

EMSWORTH, Pa. — A 19-year-old man is responsible for shooting a pregnant woman who was in a vehicle on Route 65 on Jan. 25, according to Allegheny County Police.

Roderick Ferguson is wanted on charges of aggravated assault, recklessly endangering another person and firearms violations.

Ferguson is known to frequent the McKees Rocks and Brentwood areas. He is described as a black male 5′ 9″ in height and medium build.

There was a crash around 11:30 p.m. that night, minutes after the shooting was reported at the intersection of Route 65 and Broad Street in Leetsdale. The crash happened on Camp Horne Road in Ohio Township.

Police said the 20-year-old woman was shot multiple times when someone either drove or walked up to the car, which was being driven by a 20-year-old man.

The driver was not shot, but was hurt when the car crashed, police said.

The woman was taken to a hospital, where she was listed as being in stable condition. The man was also taken to a hospital for treatment.

Detectives arrested 18-year-old Madeline Filotei on charges of hindering apprehension and false reports to law enforcement. Filotei will be lodged in the Allegheny County Jail awaiting arraignment.
