A man posed as a water company employee to gain access to a Shenango Township resident’s home, police said.
In a Facebook post, the Shenango Township Police Department said it received a report of a man who told a homeowner that he needed to enter in order to “check the water pressure.” Police said the man did present identification to the homeowner.

According to police, that man left after hearing another person was returning to the home. Nothing was reported missing from the home.
Police said this is a common tactic used to distract homeowners while another person enters the house to steal their property.
