WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Travis Ross is accused of driving drunk, then crashing. Washington Township police say in his car, he had suspected heroin or fentanyl that nearly killed an officer who breathed it in when he responded.
Ross is facing 23 counts after police say he crashed on Route 356 Sunday, allegedly under the influence.
The accident early Sunday resulted in an officer inhaling a substance believed to be heroin or fentanyl.
He was administered Narcan and the symptoms cleared immediately.

Ross was scheduled to appear in Armstrong County for a plea hearing Wednesday morning for a DUI case filed by Leechburg police last April, but he didn't show, and police can't find him.
Washington Township Police filed an arrest warrant Tuesday and Channel 11 reported police have spent the past two days trying to find him.
Investigators were just able to search the vehicle Tuesday, and are waiting on lab results to determine if the stamp bag that the Washington Township officer was exposed to was heroin, fentanyl or both.
The police chief confirmed the officer who encountered the white powdery substance inhaled it when he was trying to find the suspect's driver's license and the middle console flew open, dispersing the powdery substance into the air.
The chief told Channel 11 on Wednesday that the officer is doing well.
