Police searching for 2 men accused of trying to abduct teen girl in Pittsburgh

PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh police are searching for two men accused of trying to abduct a teenage girl in Pittsburgh’s Point Breeze neighborhood.

According to a release, the girl told investigators two men tried to abduct her around 7 p.m. Tuesday before she ran away, which is right next to Chatham University and a block away from Bakery Square.

Bakery Square is home to a popular mall and restaurants along Penn Avenue, and Google’s Pittsburgh corporate office is located there.

Police are “searching for a crime scene” and reviewing all available camera footage in the area. Investigators said the girl ran to North Euclid Avenue, which is about a 27 minute walk from where the attempted abduction happened.

Luckily, the girl was not hurt.

The Special Victims Unit is conducting an ongoing investigation.

The victim told police the alleged attempted abduction happened at the intersection of Fifth and Penn avenues. The map below shows the location:
