PITTSBURGH — Police are searching for the driver of a car they said hit a pedestrian in the Chateau section of Pittsburgh then left the scene.
Investigators said a man was hit at the intersection of Beaver Avenue and Franklin Street around 6:20 a.m Friday.
Channel 11 has learned police believe the victim was hit by a late-model red Ford Fusion with a broken mirror on the passenger side, based on parts left at the scene of the crash.
Dan Johnson of the Hill District crosses Beaver Avenue every day and said it can be dangerous.
"Most of the time they will stop. But most of the time they just run the red light," Johnson said.
