PITTSBURGH — Police shooting survivor turned activist Leon Ford is running for Pittsburgh City Council.
He's hoping to represent the 9th District, which covers East Liberty, Friendship, Homewood and other neighborhoods on the east side of the city.
Right now that seat is held by Councilman Ricky Burgess, but his term expires next year.
Ford recently won a $5 million settlement from the city of Pittsburgh for the shooting that left him paralyzed.
