Police took a man into custody Saturday night after a Pittsburgh park was shut down for more than an hour for reports of a gunman.
SWAT personnel and other emergency crews were at the scene at Jack Stack Park in Brighton Heights after a man was reportedly seen near the baseball fields and pool with a gun.
"We called in our tactical team and our negotiators," said Cmdr. Jason Lando of the Pittsburgh police. "After several minutes, the negotiators were able to speak to the male and arrange for a peaceful surrender."
Police determined the gun was fake and said no charges will be filed. The man is expected to undergo a mental health evaluation.
