Some residents are opposing plans for a rapid transit bus line connecting Downtown, Oakland and Wilkinsburg, saying the route would hurt their communities.
Under the new system, the direct route to Downtown from Braddock and Duquesne would be cut. The proposed bus rapid transit system would reroute buses 61 A, B, C and D, eliminating downtown stops. Riders coming into Downtown from those areas would need to transfer to a bus rapid transit bus from Oakland into the city.
On Friday, PAT bus riders voiced their concerns about the proposed plan in the neighborhoods.
"Sometimes change isn't good so you have to make sure it meets the demand of the people,” Meschelle McMillion said.

Another PAT rider, Edith Bell, said, “We have older people that catch busses every day, every day. The 61B every day to go downtown. The bus company needs to get their selves together."
Another concern for riders in communities is the additional fare. With the BRT transfer in Oakland, riders worry they will have to pay more.
"More money, that's what they're trying to do. Get more money,” Bell said.
The board hasn’t finalized their service plans for the routes under the BRT yet. The next board meeting is scheduled for Sept. 29. Stay with Channel 11 News and WPXI.com for continuing coverage.
