River Rescue pulls man’s body from Mon River near Homestead

PITTSBURGH — River Rescue crews pulled a man’s body from the Monongahela River near Homestead Sunday afternoon.

Police said a kayaker on the water called 911 around noon to report what appeared to be a body in the water near the Homestead High Level Bridge. The man’s body was located and pulled onto the River Rescue boat.

The man was taken to the North Shore boathouse to be transferred to the Allegheny County Medical Examiner. Investigators don’t know who the man is or how he ended up in the water. The medical examiner’s office will determine that information.
