TARENTUM, Pa. — Pittsburgh, zombies and shopping malls are a match firmly entrenched in horror history and local lore. That’s why organizers with The ScareHouse said they are moving into a larger, permanent home inside The Pittsburgh Mills mall for the 2020 Halloween season.
According to a post on its Facebook page, nightly attendance for the haunted attraction will be limited to 50% and each group will be private. Each group will be the only people allowed to enter together and groups will be capped at six people.

All guests will be required to wear a face covering, hand sanitizer will be provided and people are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance. Organizers said the new location will help with parking issues and long lines of people waiting to enter.
A new attraction, Scream District, was delayed last fall as permitting issues with the city of Pittsburgh meant the opening had to be postponed. It led to the entire production not opening in time for Halloween.

The ScareHouse has been nationally recognized in recent years as being “One of America’s Scariest Haunted Houses” and director Guillermo Del Toro has commented on the production quality.
