LATROBE, Pa. — A security guard at Arnold Palmer Regional Airport failed an alcohol test and was sent home Friday night, Channel 11’s news exchange partners at TribLIVE reported.
One of two other guards noticed indications of alcohol use, and the alcohol breath test was administered, Westmoreland County Airport Authority Executive Director Gabe Monzo told TribLIVE.

The guard, who is not a TSA agent but is responsible for guarding secure areas and exits, had not yet begun his duties, Monzo told TribLIVE. He apologized and said he had just attended a birthday party.
Friday’s incident was the guard’s first infraction, so he was not fired and is being offered help, Monzo told TribLIVE.
