A SEPTA police officer and a doctor were in the right place at the right time to save a man from a burning car in Philadephia.

Newly released video from last week's rescue shows the car on fire and smoking after rear-ending a garbage truck.

A big concern, and making matters worse: the car was leaking fuel.

TRENDING NOW:

"It felt like I was there for like 20 minutes trying to get him out,” said Sergeant Marc Pasquarella with Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority. “Seeing it, it was only, like, 40 seconds. It gives you goose bumps a little bit, you know?"

The driver is still in a hospital with arm and leg injuries.

Pasquarella and doctor who helped him weren't hurt.
