PITTSBURGH — As yet another sign of these pandemic times, several restaurants in East Liberty are closing for good for a variety of reasons.

“It feels like a war zone. To every city. It’s every town. It’s every city. We are all going through this,” Diana Jones said. “They’re really good restaurants and I don’t want to see them leave.”

Jones said her heart breaks to see the bars and restaurants closing up. Spoon, BRGR and Pizza Taglio are shutting down at South Highland and Centre.

“I am afraid that it’s going to get worse,” Michel Tsouris said.

BRGR announced it was permanently closing the location in East Liberty. The owner of Spoon took to Facebook, thanking customers and citing the pandemic challenges.

Pizza Taglio’s owner also took to social media, announcing the closure with mixed emotions. The restaurant closes for good on July 11.
