The Latrobe parent is not going to be charged, per police.
The fight happened in the stands of the Alpha Ice Complex on Feb. 10 after the game between Shaler and Latrobe.
Cellphone video and surveillance footage inside the rink captured the incident.
In the video, you can see the player making a comment toward the parent.
The Shaler player is then shown running up the stands in full uniform and skates and punching the Latrobe parent.
Fans nearby jump in and break up the incident.
Police paperwork states the Latrobe parent wanted to talk directly to the Shaler player after the game over his aggressive play.
The Thoms got wind of this and became upset. Police say Mrs. Thom yelled at the Latrobe father and pointed her finger at him.
Mr. Thom then intervened and had to be held back by his wife.
Police say that after a few minutes of yelling, Mr. Thom ran past his wife and lunged at the Latrobe dad.
Then, the son eventually got involved and threw the punch.
Channel 11 called both Richard Thom and the Latrobe parent for comment.
Neither answered or returned messages for comment.
Both parents experienced minor injuries and refused medical treatment.
The Pennsylvania Interscholastic Hockey League confirms the Shaler player remains suspended indefinitely from play.
Court dates have not been set.
