PITTSBURGH — A shooting victim was found after wading out of the Ohio River in Pittsburgh’s North Side late Sunday night, not long after another man who had been shot showed up at a hospital, police said.
It was just after 11 p.m. when a man walked into a hospital with a gunshot wound to the leg, authorities said. A short time later, police were alerted about another man calling for help in the area of Island and Preble avenues.
When officers got there, they found a man who had come up out of the river, police said. The man had been shot multiple times and officers provided aid until paramedics arrived to take him to a hospital, where he was listed in critical condition.
Investigators are working to determine where the shootings happened and whether they are related.
