Scattered snow showers are expected in several areas throughout Western Pennsylvania.
Northern areas should see isolated snow bands drop in around Interstate 80, Butler, Beaver, Kittanning and Indiana between 5 p.m. and 7:30 or 8 p.m. Saturday night. Scattered snow showers should move through most of the area between 7:30/8 p.m. to 1 a.m.
Temperatures should be just above freezing for the onset of snow (33-35 degrees) and then become slightly warmer by 1 a.m. early Sunday, when snow will mix with rain especially south of Pittsburgh, but the ridges will stay with snow showers overnight.
If the systems tracks farther south, it will bring colder air and better chances for snow accumulation.
Current models show the possibility of 1 inch for the city of Pittsburgh, Beaver and Greensburg, 2 inches for Butler, Kittanning and the I-80, and little to nothing for I-70 and the southern areas.
A light slushy coating is possible in some locations. Road temperatures should warm up a few degrees during the day on Saturday, with a light coating on roads likely around I-80 and the ridges.
This forecast could change depending on the trajectories of the storms.
