PITTSBURGH — It used to take Denise Bedel several hours to clear her long and steep driveway in Ross Township.
“When I was younger I could do more. But now that I’m older, I can’t do as much,” Bedel said.
She now relies on snow removal services like Kurt Mueller’s company.
By Monday afternoon, Mueller had already removed snow from 10 different properties. People are able to hire him with a simple tap through the Quickplow app.
“As jobs come up for availability, service providers like myself have time to go out to those jobs, pick and choose which are in the vicinity and we have time to do. If we do, we take it and accept the bid. If not, it goes to someone else,” he said.
The app has been picking up steam in the Pittsburgh area. It’s allowed Mueller to expand his business and help those who need it during severe winter weather.
