State police investigating after two teens found dead following home fire

SOUTH BEAVER TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Two teens were found dead following a late-August house fire in Beaver County and state police are now resuming the investigation into what happened.

Troopers said they were asked to restart their investigation at the request of the South Beaver Police Department. A 17-year-old boy from Negley, Ohio and a 17-year-old girl from Wellsville, Ohio were found dead in the burned out remains of a home on Old Blackhawk Road in South Beaver Township.

The fire broke out in the early morning hours on August 25. Fire officials at the time said people living nearby noticed a glow and called 911. Six different fire departments rushed to the scene to help put out the flames.

Fire officials at the time said the home was a rental and that no one was living there.

It’s not clear what sparked the deadly fire.
