Sen. Bob Casey says the numbers came too late, but finally we’re seeing the scope of the pandemic inside local nursing homes – something he’s been calling for for weeks.
Casey introduced his own bill. If passed, it would provide $20 billion in funding to nursing homes for testing and PPE.
“We have to get these numbers down and we have to make sure this doesn’t happen again,” he said. “We have to prepare for the next outbreak, and that could be this fall.”
