PITTSBURGH — One of Pittsburgh's most popular spots for entertainment could be in for some big changes.
Six new restaurants and a major new tenant are both strong possibilities in a new proposal to revitalize Station Square.
"I think that would be great if there are more spots down here, then more people would come," Tina Henkel said.

Channel 11 has learned from the owners of Station Square, they are negotiating with UPMC to lease a 35,000-square-foot space near the Freight House Shops for a new training center.
It's news that some day could be a big step to bringing more people to the area.
"I know UPMC has been expanding for a while, it's a good place to be," said Will Smith, who works in Station Square.

Developers are also looking at adding restaurants to create a restaurant row, but some tourists question that move. Frank Pressiat is visiting from France and said more dining options may not be the best idea.
"For the moment, from what I see, there is no need (for more restaurants) because all the restaurants are almost empty," he said.
Others say if UPMC moves in, more restaurants will be needed and will be beneficial for people who work in the area.
Channel 11 contacted UPMC for comment. A spokesperson said at this point, they have no additional details to share.
