“I’m from Atlanta, Georgia. Yes, I did travel all the way here to Pittsburgh to hang out with Dr. Canady and Ms. Canady. It’s a blessing to serve these young kids,” explained teacher Chico Scott.
Dr. Canady is hoping to bring in as many young Black scholars as he can, to give them the bright future they deserve.
“We have open enrollment throughout the year. We would love for you to come and look at our school,” explained Dr. Canady.
Scholars and staff must wear masks. Teachers who aren’t vaccinated have to take a COVID-19 test twice a week.
The academy also plans on opening a clinic to provide medical services to scholars and their familes. It’s the first academy in the country to offer such a clinic.
