Two West Virginia men have been charged in the shooting. Terrell Linear, 21, was charged with first degree murder and Shaundarius T. Reeder, 20, has been charged with conspiracy to commit murder. Both men are from Fairmont, W.Va. and are no students at the university, according to campus officials.

The two men were arrested at a nearby shopping center after someone called in a tip to the University Police Department. Police said Smith, Linear and Reeder got into a fight in the parking lot.
