Surveillance video shows two men draining North Hills ATM

New surveillance video shows two men draining a North Hills ATM. Police say they took all the money out more than once.

Now we're learning that a fraud investigation is in the works.

“We're a small community bank,” said David Bursic, president and CEO of West View Savings Bank. “Our concern goes beyond the dollars. "We're concerned about the customers in our community.

Bursic discussed the fraud investigation with Channel 11.

TRENDING NOW:

Since June 13, he said, two men have managed to drain the ATM at West View Savings Bank.

“That's out of the norm for us, and that's continued over the past week or so,” Bursic said. He showed Channel 11 surveillance video in which two men used multiple ATM and credit cards on multiple days at the branch on Perry Highway in McCandless.

“On more than one occasion, our machine was wiped totally dry,” Bursic said.

So the bank got McCandless police involved, and they opened up a fraud investigation.

In the video, the passenger of a white Nissan Altima with Virginia plates goes up to the ATM. Bursic said most of the cards they used were foreign. The incident forced the bank to limit the ATM hours.

“It's an inconvenience to our customers, it's an inconvenience to other members of the community and that's why we would like this stopped right away,” Bursic said.

He can’t say how much was taken, but he wants West View Savings Bank customers to know that  “No money of theirs has been compromised in any way. None of their plastic cards have been compromised. Their debit cards are fine. We would ask them to continue to use them.”

None of the other West View Savings Bank locations have experienced this. McCandless police said no other banks in the North Hills have had this issue.
