JEFFERSON TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Gunfire and a barricade situation Tuesday in Greene County caused businesses to close down, homes to be evacuated and schools to be locked down before ending with one person in custody.
Only Channel 11 was there as the suspect, John Pochran, was lead out in handcuffs and into an ambulance. He had little to say, but commended police for their work.
Pennsylvania State Police responded around noon to an emergency call of shots fired inside a home in Dry Tavern, which is right outside Carmichaels.
One person was detained by Cumberland Township police earlier in the day and was being questioned.
Police said they recovered a weapon, but did not say what type of weapon it was.

There were no reported injuries.
"I come home and everything, cops everywhere!" said John Lilley, who lives nearby. "I left early today and I come home and it was all blocked off."
All Jefferson-Morgan schools were placed on lockdown at the request of police, the school superintendent said. The lockdown was lifted around 3 p.m. when officials said the situation was contained. Police said no students were in danger.

"I heard a lady yell, 'Call 911,' as I was on the phone with (911). I just heard four gunshots. When I looked out my door, I saw him on top of the roof with a gun in his hand," she said.
The incident happened on a major thoroughfare in town. Some businesses were closed, and neighbors who tried to get to the grocery store said they couldn't because of the massive police response blocking both ways in and out of town.
One person who lives nearby said he heard 20-25 gunshots in all. Neighbors who started to come outside were told to evacuate their homes until the situation was resolved.
State police said the response took so long because they needed to make sure no one else was inside of the home and no one was in danger.
"It's rare to happen in this town because it's all quiet," Lilley said.
