SWAT takes man into custody after standoff in Pittsburgh

PITTSBURGH — A man was taken into custody after a SWAT incident which started Sunday, according to the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police, after he allegedly broke out windows and threw items into the street.

It happened just before 10:45 p.m. on Middle Street in the Central North Side neighborhood.

Officers were called for unknown trouble, and when they arrived they found a man had broken out a third floor window of a residence and had tossed several objects out onto the street.

Officers tried unsuccessfully to make contact with the man, who appeared to barricade himself on the third floor.

SWAT was called and eventually went into the home and took the man into custody.
