SWISSVALE, Pa. — A teenager’s body was found Thursday morning near a Swissvale playground.
Investigators said the discovery was made shortly after 7 a.m. in the area of Denniston and Collingwood avenues, at Collingwood Park.
The victim was identified as 17-year old Vallen Davies, who lived not far from there. Police said he suffered multiple gunshot wounds.
Channel 11's Steven Fisher was the only reporter to speak with Davies' mother. He asked her how she was holding up. "With God's strength," Velda Bradley replied.

Davies was a sophomore at Woodland Hills High School.
"It's not fair what happened to my son, it's not fair," Bradley said. "I have a lot of pain when the police came banging on my door, and then I just had anger."
Bradley said her son was a good kid, who worked hard in school. She told Channel 11 she was worried when he didn't come home Wednesday night, but never thought he was in any danger.
"I know a couple of people who have lost children, and I never thought it would be one of mine," Bradley said.
Together they had a lot of plans for his future, but now she's left to plan Vallen's funeral.
Bradley said, "He's a 17-year-old kid in high school that won't be able to graduate, never get married, and never have any children, never go to college, never fulfill his dreams, they are just gone."
Neighbors told Channel 11 News that they heard gunshots. However, no calls were made to police.
Police and Allegheny County homicide detectives are investigating. No arrests have been made and a motive has not been determined.
