PITTSBURGH — Some people are so frustrated with Pennsylvania’s COVID-19 vaccine rollout plan, they created their own Facebook page to spread vaccination information and tips on registering.
Channel 11′s Gabriella DeLuca spoke with people who are crowd-sourcing information on getting vaccinated -- because they believe the state isn’t doing a good-enough job.

Leighann Bacher said she was trying to find a way to get her family members vaccinated, but she discovered the entire process is very confusing and frustrating.
She eventually found information on Facebook and realized she wasn’t the only one struggling to find the same resources, so she created a Facebook page to centralize information.
“Knowing that we don’t have the resources from the people above us, we are taking it to our own hands (to) try to get every person vaccinated,” Bacher said.
On the Facebook group “Getting Pittsburgh Vaccinated - COVID-19 Appointment Tip Page,” people can post where vaccinations are available, how many are available and how to navigate appointment websites.
The page started with just a few hundred people. Now, there are nearly 10,000 that have joined the group.
Bacher said it’s a place where people can share information, voice frustrations with the system and help each other through this process.
“People have said that’s one of the things they like about our page... is that they can see that it’s not their fault that they’re not finding something,” she said.
Bacher told Channel 11 she has also reached out to lawmakers to show them this Facebook group -- and what people are experiencing -- in hopes this can make a positive change in the process.
