AMWELL TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A Washington County woman lived through Friday afternoon’s EF1 tornado.
Betty Montgomery told Channel 11 she dropped to the floor and immediately started praying when the tornado brought winds up to 90 miles per hour.
Her home was damaged, but she's just grateful no one was hurt.

“The noise was so incredibly loud that it was not just a typical windstorm. I was terrified,” Montgomery said. “The debris started flying past the door.”
Montgomery says she had just gotten home and tried to let out her dogs, but they wouldn't go.

“That's when the breeze started flying past the door,” Montgomery said. Minutes earlier, she had gotten the tornado warning on her phone.
“Just going through my mind quick, ‘Can I get to the basement fast enough? No, I can't.’ I ran to the living room, which is in the center of the house and hit the floor.”
Trees were toppled, others missing their top branches along Brush Run Road in the Lone Pine section of Amwell Township.
Montgomery's home was hit: the garage was destroyed and there’s damage to the roof and siding with debris scattered everywhere.
“It sounded like a freight train, and that's what they say. And I never believed that until today,” Montgomery said.

Montgomery said it was over in just a couple of minutes.
She was OK, as were her dogs, and she called her husband to make sure he was alright.
“I do believe in God and I believe in miracles and I'm very thankful, yes,” Montgomery said.
She also told Channel 11 there doesn't appear to be any serious damage to the house and they plan on staying there.
According to the National Weather Service, this was the third reported tornado to hit Washington County in the last five years.
A tornado also touched down in Monongalia County, West Virginia, on Friday.
