The Transportation Security Administration said it expects to screen 14,000 passengers a day through the holidays. A travel advisory has also been issued for anyone who is flying.
TSA regulations are also strict when it comes to Christmas presents air travelers may be bringing along. Since many people will be traveling with Christmas presents and food, TSA is stressing some key points.
Wrapped gifts are allowed but not encouraged. If agents have to inspect the gift, they may have to open it. Also, pack toys that look like weapons – such as guns and swords – in checked bags. Finally, pack holiday treats like cookies in carry-on bags.

More than 500,000 people are expected to pass through Pittsburgh International Airport through Jan. 2 and it's recommended that travelers arrive two hours early due to the new screening of electronic items.
A record number of people are celebrating the holidays away from home, according to AAA, which also estimates more than 107 million will be traveling by train, plane or automobile.
A TSA employee told Channel 11 that the average wait time today has been 18 minutes, thanks to the use of alternate checkpoints.
