HOMESTEAD, Pa. — Three people were found shot in a car late Thursday night in Homestead, and two of them have since died, police said.
A Homestead officer who was on patrol heard multiple gunshots just before 11:30 p.m. in the area of East 16th Avenue.
First responders found a man, a woman and a boy shot multiple times inside the car, investigators said. They were each taken to hospitals in critical condition, but the man died a short time later and the woman died on Sunday.
The Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the man who died as 25-year-old Jason Chavis. The woman was identified on Monday as 18-year-old Amari Mitchell.
Officials said the boy is expected to survive.
Police said they do not have any suspects and the motive for the shooting is unclear. Anyone with information is asked to call the Allegheny County Police Tip Line at 1-833-ALL-TIPS. Callers can remain anonymous.
