UPMC could require employees to get COVID-19 vaccine

PITTSBURGH — The possibility of requiring employees to get the COVID-19 vaccine has not been ruled out by Pennsylvania’s largest nongovernmental employer.

During a virtual news conference on Friday, UPMC Chief Quality Officer Tammi Minnier said several factors will be considered before a decision is made.

When asked directly if UPMC will require the vaccine, Minnier said it is not mandated “yet.”
