PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh police are investigating the death of a man who was found bleeding in broad daylight on a sidewalk in Pittsburgh’s Homewood neighborhood.
Police were called to Frankstown Road just before 5 p.m. on Friday.
Roger Brown, 63, was found with severe head trauma. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition, where he died on Sunday.
“I’m still trying to wrap my head around it. You know he didn’t have to be assaulted like that in Homewood. He was 63-years-old and that’s not fair,” Brown’s son, Samuel Miller said.

Marlon Johnson, 31, was detained by police later Friday night in Homewood as he fit the description of the attacker. He was taken to headquarters for questioning and then later arrested. Police said his charges were upgraded to homicide after Brown died.
“I want them in jail for life. They don’t deserve to be out. They do not deserve to be out,” Miller said.
Johnson was arrested and booked into the Allegheny County Jail on an aggravated assault charge. Police said there could be more charges coming against Johnson.
The family set up a GoFundMe to raise money for Brown’s funeral.
