West Virginia offering $12,000 cash, other perks to lure outdoor enthusiasts to move to state

MORGANTOWN, WVa. — West Virginia launched a new remote-work program Monday in an attempt to lure outdoor enthusiasts to move to the Mountain State.

The incentive program is offering $12,000 cash and a year’s worth of free outdoor recreation for people who work remotely to move to the state.

The program, supported by West Virginia native Brad D. Smith and his wife Alys, will allow adventurers to enjoy the outdoors, uncrowded spaces and a low cost of living while working remotely.
