WESTMORELAND COUNTY — Westmoreland County saw a total of 89 new coronavirus cases and 24 new hospitalizations Wednesday.
The new cases bring the county’s total to 3,703, according to the data released by the county. This includes 3,309 confirmed cases and 394 probable cases.
Seventy-six Covid-19 related deaths have been reported in the county, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Health. With five deaths in the past two days, Westmoreland County hasn’t seen as many covid-19 deaths since May 18 when six were announced on one day, according to our partners at the Trib.
The Trib also reported that that there are currently 62 coronavirus patients hospitalized in the county. On Tuesday, there were 38 patients hospitalized. Westmoreland has 88 ventilators, with 19 in use but just five by covid-19 patients.
