PITTSBURGH — A woman and two animals were found dead after a fire burned through a home Tuesday night in Pittsburgh’s Brookline neighborhood, authorities said.
Flames and heavy smoke were shooting from the back of the Pioneer Avenue home when firefighters pulled up just before 10:30 p.m.
Once firefighters got inside the home after quickly putting out the fire, they found the woman dead on the first floor, investigators said. She has not yet been identified.

A dog and cat also died in the fire, officials said. Another cat survived and was cared for by Animal Care and Control.
On Wednesday morning, investigators said they believe the fire was accidental and started in the kitchen.
