PITTSBURGH — A woman accused of posing as a FedEx worker and stealing hundreds of dollars in packages from homes in Pittsburgh’s Mount Washington neighborhood is now in police custody.
Laura Woester, 50, was arraigned Monday night before being taken to the Allegheny County Jail.
Police said Woester was caught on home surveillance video committing the crimes while dressed in a black and purple FedEx uniform. Neighbors spotted her scoping out homes with a car trailing behind her.

The initial incident happened Nov. 4 along Beam Way.
Woester is charged with theft by unlawful taking.
It’s unclear where Woester got the FedEx uniform. FedEx said they “have not found any record of this individual working for or providing service for FedEx.”
Police said they are familiar with Woester from past run-ins.
