GREENSBURG, Pa. — A woman was shot Sunday in an apparent road rage shooting on the Pennsylvania Turnpike in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania State Police in Greensburg said.
The 38-year-old woman accidentally drifted into another lane, cutting off a vehicle driven by 30-year-old Andrew Skinner, investigators determined.
“The suspect then proceeded past the victim’s vehicle and as he did so, he fired a shot that went into the driver’s door of her vehicle, through the door and struck her in the abdomen,” said Trooper Clifford Greenfield.
The shooting happened shortly before 2:30 p.m. in the area of mile marker 74.
The victim was identified as Morgan King, 38. Investigators said she was driving home to Philadelphia with her pet parrot in the car. She said she didn’t mean to cut Skinner off and she didn’t see him.
Skinner kept driving, but he was later arrested after the woman provided a description to police. He is charged with attempted homicide and related offenses. He was taken to jail on $250,000 cash bond.
