PITTSBURGH — At least six people were struck by paintballs Tuesday as a group of several men apparently traveled around the city and fired upon them.
The first victim, a 17-year-old girl, was shot in the face with a paintball at the intersection of E. Warrington Avenue and Beltzhoover Avenue around 7:10 a.m. She was taken to the hospital for treatment.
Two minutes later, three vehicles were shot in the 200 block of Cedarhurst Street.

At 7:45 a.m., officers were called to the intersection of Lincoln Avenue and Lemington Avenue where a 60-year-old woman was shot with a paintball as she walked to the bus stop nearby. She was also taken to the hospital for treatment.
Just down the street at 7:50 a..m., a 13-year-old girl and 52-year-old woman were shot with paintballs near the intersection of Lincoln Avenue and Lyric Street. Both victims refused medical treatment.
Nearby, at the intersection of Lincoln Avenue and Shetland Street, a woman was struck in the neck with a paintball while waiting for a bus. She spoke to Channel 11 after being treated by medics at the scene.

“I thought it was rocks kicking up from the tires and then like felt a burn,” the woman said. “I put my hand up and I pulled it back and there was yellow paint on my hand. And I'm like, 'They hit me with a paintball.'”
Police said that while specific descriptions of the shooter and vehicle vary, they all involve a blue car with multiple males inside. Anyone with information is asked to call the Zone 3 Police Department at 412-488-8326.
