According to a criminal complaint obtained by Channel 11 News, the woman told officers she had been shot by her husband as she lay bleeding on the living room floor.
The woman told police that the shooting happened during an argument, the complaint said. Police said they found a pistol on top of a car outside the home.
A neighbor, who did not want to be identified, told Channel 11 News that he heard arguing and then a single gunshot. He claims Kadish was laughing as police took him away in handcuffs.
Police said they had been called to the home in the past for other incidents.
The woman was taken to a hospital, where she was last listed in critical but stable condition.
Kadish faces charges including aggravated assault and recklessly endangering another person.
