“We are very excited to be able to provide visitors with a chance to get a look at the new calf,” said Dr. Barbara Baker, president & CEO of the Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium. “The little calf’s health and welfare is our top priority.  We want to ensure that she will be comfortable being in the family room with more people and movement outside of the exhibit.”

The calf will be available for people to see as long as she’s feeling up to it, the zoo said.

Visitors are encouraged to check the zoo's website to find out if she will be on display on any particular day.

The calf is now five weeks old, and according to the zoo, she’s doing well. She drinks up to 16 pints each day. She loves to investigate as she walks through the barn and gets exercise.
